Subject Proficiency Assessment students attend certificate-giving ceremony

Last year a selection of Year 9 students taking French and Italian had the opportunity to join a Subject Proficiency Assessment Class (SPA).  This enabled them to consolidate and enhance their language skills namely listening, speaking, reading and writing at Level 1 of the MQF (Malta Qualifications Framework).  Students who succeeded in two skills or more are now following a Level 2 course.

On Friday, four students attended the SPA certificate-giving ceremony held at Archbishop’s Seminary Tal-Virtù Rabat and received the well-deserved certificates on behalf of our school.

Our thanks go to Ms Chantelle Fenech and Ms Sabrina Hackett Pace, teachers of Italian and French, who guided our students on this exciting journey with much dedication and care.

May we take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to Dr Mario Pace, Senior Lecturer of Italian at the University of Malta, who designed and developed this new programme based on communicative competence which is the way forward in language learning.
