The Learning Support Zone is a school-based facility to support different students with different needs. It delivers short term support programmes tailored to meet the individual needs of these students.
The Learning Support Zone room is a hybrid of home and school environment. The teacher and learning support assistant are always present in the room, and their positive interactions assist as a model for support.

Presenting positive behaviours will lead to happiness, motivation, self-esteem, better health and improved relations. It is crucial that the Learning Support Zone team presents these behaviours to generate it to both students and all staff.

During the month of December students went for an outing to the cinema where they watched the film ‘Wonder’ This is a film which teaches students about how important it is to accept and love themselves, how important it is to never give up in life and believe in their abilities. In addition it teaches students about the importance of accepting others even though they might be different because everyone is special in his or her own way. Students really enjoyed the film and a discussion of such topics and values were discussed at school in the LSZ.

During the month of March the Learning Support Zone organised ‘soup day’ for all the school as a fundraising activity for the LSZ. Nutritious food can influence our mood states, help us build a balance of emotions and promote overall well-being. Healthy eating is a form of respect. Pumpkin, leeks, ginger and cumin soup and broccoli and leeks soup were served during the midday break. The activity was a success with the help of our students, and support from our SMT members and staff.
