Dear parents. guardians and students,
According to the updated guidelines for education, it will no longer be mandatory to wear a mask in schools. However, individuals are free to
make their own assessment of risk for themselves and for their children given that evidence to date still shows that wearing a mask is an effective means of preventing viral spread to others in conjunction with maintaining an adequate physical distance from others. As yet there is no evidence that face shields are effective as source control or protection from respiratory droplets as masks thus, masks should be used.
Kindly note that the updated guidelines still state that masks should be worn on school transport.
