The Science Centre within the Directorate for Learning and Assessment
Programmes, organized the third edition of the Thematic STEM Debate.
The aim of this activity was to engage students to become active critical thinkers and skilled debaters. Through effective participation in the debate, students were expected to:
▪ examine ideas, reports, audio-visual material and policies;
▪ verify the value of evidence for concepts;
▪ recognize strengths and weaknesses of arguments;
▪ engage with opposing views and speak strategically.
This year’s Thematic STEM Debate for the secondary sector focused on Women in STEM and Economic Growth.
The school was represented by Stella Francalanza of class Year4.1. Stella had training through the Erasmus+ project FEEL: Future European Empowered Leaders. Well Done Stella!
